Describe the trading-post empire of the Portuguese

The Portuguese trading posts were different posts that engaged in the slave and gold trades. They had these different trading posts because when certain people would travel around Portugal they would have these posts where people would be able to trade or buy goods, slaves, and other things such as supplies.
