"My Bondage and My Freedom "

-by Douglass

"Nature had made us friends; slavery had made us enemies"

"Nature had made us friends; slavery had made us enemies" is something that is true today. The book and movie "The Life of Pi" is the opposite of that but has the same theme. The young man, named Pi and the tiger, Richard Parker are enemies in nature but, when stranded on a life raft at sea they can become friends. Richard needs Pi to get him fish and Pi needs Richard so he does not go mad. It is all about how the situation can change the dynamics of any relationship. Ones between tiger and man; ones between two humans.
