What Was The Dust Bowl?
The dust bowl was a dessert that was mainly in Oklahoma within the 1930's. The large desert was formed when local farmers over used the delacut land by allowing their cattle and sheep to over graze as well as over plowing the topsoil. This, as well as the hot temperatures, resulted in massive devastation to the area causing the once healthy and fertile soil to become very dry and unmanageable.
