Transmission

Hepatitis B is a virus that effects the liver

It is transmitted by coming into contact with the blood or other bodily fluids of an infected individual

The most common way that it is transmitted is through sexual contact. Other ways include using needles that have been infected for drug use, tattooing, piercing, acupuncture, etc.

In areas where Hepatitis B is common, there is usually a high rate of transmission from mothers to newborns.
