Treatments for chronic hepatitis b

Antiviral medications- 7 of these have been licensed by the FDA to treat CHB.

Interferon Alfa 2b- this is a synthetic version of a substance produced by the body to fight the infection and is mostly used to treat young people.

Sometimes people with CHB have a liver transplant to completely remove the infected liver and receive one from a donor.

Most infants receive their first HB vaccine at birth and complete them all by the age of 6-18 months.
