Wet hair and apply enough hair setting lotion

Make a side part

Describute hair evenly through the crown

 Place the middle finger of your subordinate hand on the head above where the ridge is to be formed 

Place large teethe of comb 1/4" below the finger, not touching 

Draw hair comb approx 1" closer to hair line 

Comb is parallel to finger and perpendicular to scalp

Lay comb flat against the head

Place forefinger on top of comb and slide the comb out

The ridge is secured between your two fingers 

Flip comb down and smooth the hair down the head

Next ridge down will go in the opposite direction

Make waves all around the head

Dry under a hood dryer or spray a gloss and shine if the hair is not being brushed out

The ability to perform basic 

finger waving allows you to carry this technique into pin curling, roller setting, and marcel waving.
