Wordfest presents local, national and international authors in schools and at public venues. The 20th annual Wordfest runs October 13-18, 2015, in Calgary and the Bow Valley

Wordfest Youth brings writers in contact with young readers at fun, educational events that promote a love of reading and a deeper appreciation of the written word.

Artists present funny stories, sad stories and stories that take place nearby or in distant lands. They sing songs, write poetry, paint pictures, and share ideas with children, teenagers and adults.

From picture books and children’s fiction to young adult literature and graphic novels, Wordfest intro-

duces young audiences to the power of storytelling as it unfolds within a variety of genres, forms and media.

Festival authors work in a variety of media and genres in languages including English, French and Spanish.
