The beetle still has cells, but they are dead. This means that the beetle is dead. When the beetle was alive it had working cells.

This beetle used to reproduce but doesn't reproduce anymore. This is because it can't do anything. Because it doesn't reproduce it is dead.

The beetle used to respond to it's environment, but not anymore. This shows it is dead.

This beetle used to grow and develop, back when it was alive, but because it is dead, it can't do either.

Although the beetle might still have the chemicals of life inside of it, they don't do anything for the corpse of the beetle.

The beetle corpse doesn't need food, water, living space, and stable internal conditions.

This beetle is definately dead!
