Symptoms

Primary:

- the first stage involves painless sores in the genitals, rectum, or mouth.

- women can also have vaginal discharge.

Secondary:

- once the sores heal you begin to get a rash, small bumps or ulcers.

Latent Syphilis:

- is the hidden stage where your symptoms don't show at first.

Tertiary (late) Syphilis:

- can result in damage to the brain, nerves, eyes, heart, blood vessels, liver, bones, & joints.

Congenital Syphilis:

- most newborns with congenital syphilis have no symptoms, but some experience a rash on the palms of their hands and soles of their feet.

- later symptoms include deafness, teeth deformities & saddle nose.
