How she was recognized by the Church?

She was recognized by the church for reaching out and helping Native Americans and African Americans. Throughout her entire life she gave about 20 million dollars to the people she was helping. She is also recognized because she became a nun.

St. Katharine Drexel was beatified in 2000 and Pope John Paul 11 canonized her a saint that same year.
