• Some people who where involved in the Gold rush were James W. Marshall who discovered gold while building Sutter's mill. Another person involved with the gold rush is Sam Brannan who bought all the tools near buy then announced gold was found so that people would buy his tools and he can make a profit. Immigrants, people who mostly came from China and Europe. In order for them to come was that they had to pay taxes to mines in California for gold. They would travel on ship all the way to California.
