Halloween takes place on October 31 every year. People dress up as anything they want. They can dress up as costumes from skeletons to a fairy princess. Americans carve pumpkins and put a light inside, to call, it a Jack-O-Lantern. When children go "trick-or-treating" (which is when children go to door saying the saying and recieve candy) they receive candy.
The USA and Canada both celebrate Halloween like this. In Mexico, they celebrate Día de los Muertos. In the UK they celebrate the same, but they say "Anything for Halloween?". In Australia and New Zealand, American style costumes are coming out. When early American settlers came to the US, the had many beliefs about ghosts and spirits. This introduced the Halloween traditions.
They have many Halloween festivals and carnivals in the Dallas, Texas area. At Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, they have Howl-O-Ween. In Denton thyme have the Denton Halloween Carnival.
