1. Imperialism in Asia
A. The "Great Game" was dubbed by the British, and was a time period of half a century where imperialists and men serving in the military became involved in risky intellectual affairs of influencing society.
B. The British wanted to establish colonies in Southeast Asia because they wanted to increased trade between India, Southeast Asia, and China. This would make them more profitable and their economy more globalized.
C. The French introduced European style schools in Indochina. The purpose of this was to create relationships with the native leaders.
