2. Africa

A. There were several dominant European powers interested in African land and creating African territory. A lot of imperialism happened as countries scrambled for Africa, as it had valuable goods and encouraged trade.


B. Carving up Africa lead to tension among European nations because there was a lot of competition amongst them and lingering tension as Africa became colonized entirely.


C. The Berlin conference gave European diplomates the information they desperately longed for in order for them to create maps of the continents.
