Meaning of Title:

The meaning behind the title "Flags of Our Fathers" is that the author, James Bradley, is the son of one of the flag raiser from the battle of Iwo Jima, Jack Bradley. Also, he talked with many people who knew the other flag raisers and the majority who knew were sons and daughters. The biggest reason for writing this book was to commemorate and remember all who fought and died in WWII.
