Childhood:

James Bradley was born and raised in Wisconsin. Growing up, he didn't know much about his father's experience in WWII. He helped his father at the funeral home he owned. James knew he wanted to be a writer at an early age.

Education: Attended primary school in Wisconsin. Attended the University of Wisconsin, the University of Notre Dame, and Sophia University in Tokyo.

Interesting Facts:

The book "Flags of Our Fathers" was made into a movie by Clint Eastwood in 2006.

James Bradley received the "Superior Public Service Award" from the U.S. Navy.

He has had three books on the "New York Times Bestsellers' List".

His father, Jack Bradley, was one of the flag raisers at Iwo Jima.
