Children at war
This picture shows how young kids had to go to war to protect their country. Iran had the most child soldiers in the war. Over 100,000 child soldiers were killed in the Iran Iraq war. 12-16 year old kids were sent out to the war to fight. They were sent out during the whole war just as dummies to protect the real soldiers. The children were used as human waves to clear out minefields to protect the adult soldiers. The child soldiers relate to Persepolis because, in the book it talked about kids being drafted into the military and how many parents sent there children over seas before they could be drafted for the war. Also the book talked about the lower class children got plastic keys so when they died the key would be their way to heaven and luxury. Children at war reflects the thesis by showing all the casualties that happen to the children just to be used as bait to find the mines in the ground.
