Chemical Warfare

This picture represents Iran and Iraq going to war and using chemical weapons and having to protect themselves from the enemy using them. In the war the Iraqis used chemical weapons more frequently then Iran did. During the time that Iraq was using chemical weapons against Iran the UN stepped in and told Iraq to quit using them. The first incident of chemical warfare that was reported in November 1980, when Susangerd was supposedly chemically bombed. The most commonly used chemical gas was mustard gas. Its effect can be in vapor or in liquid but it can burn through any body tissue. Some later effects are blindness, blistering and lung damage, and if its not cured right about they could die. These relates to Persepolis because when they went to the hospital they saw all the wound from chemical warfare. Also they talked about how Germany was exporting weapons to Iraq and when they used the weapons on Iran's soldiers, the injured were sent back to Germany where they made the weapons to be healed. Chemical warfare supports the thesis by showing us how Iran and Iraq would do anything to kill each other in anyway.
