Integumentary System
The skin consists of the epidermis and the dermis. The epidermis is the most superficial layer of skin that covers all most all of the body. The epidermis protects the deeper layer of skin. The dermis is the deeper layer of skin found under the epidermis. It's mostly made up of irregular connective tissue along with the nervous tissue, blood, and blood vessels. The integumentary system protects the body from different types of damage such as loss of water or scrape. The integumentary system consists of skin, hair, nails, glands, and nerves. The main function is to act as protection against the outside world.
Major organs:
Skin- protection from the outside world
Hair- Prevents UV radiation
Nails- Accessory organs of the skin made of sheets of harden keratinocytes and found and found on the distal ends of the fingers and toes.
