Karyotypes

-Karyotypes are sets or amounts of chromosomes in a cell or in an organism.

-Chromosomes are small pieces of genetic information shared from both the mom and dad. Each person has the same amount of chromosomes which is 46, any more or less if irregular.

-These helps to predict or diagnose specific diseases. When there are either too many, not enough, or mutated chromosomes, it can lead to disorders.

- A common example of a disorder from irregular Karyotypes is Down Syndrome and is caused from both too many or not enough chromosomes.
