- A punnett square is a chart of diagram that predicts all possible genetic outcomes of an offspring. They take the genotypes and Phenotypes from both parents and place them on the chart to come with as many possibilities of combined genes.


-They can also help predict Alleles which are mutated inherited genes. Alleles are the causes of many diseases, for example, Cystic Fibrosis.


-A Punnett Square is set up similar to a tic-tac-toe table and consists of 9 sections. In the picture, you can see both sets of genetic contribution from each parent on the side and top, and the outcomes cross on the bottom right.
