Rosie's mother today

Few Hollywood stars have shown more devotion to fighting AIDS than actress and choreographer Rosie Perez. She has tirelessly raised money for AIDS research, spent countless hours counseling young fans to guard against HIV infection. Rosie has made fighting AIDS part of her very public identity, while never revealing that her own mother suffers from the disease. Sixty-year-old Lydia Perez called a news reporter about two months ago to ask for help. Lydia said Her daughter was refusing to return her phone calls. Lydia said to "Please tell her I'm dying and I just want to see her one more time,". She sounded desperate and weak.
