Networks
-It is the social network of a disease that determines how the disease is likely to spread from one person to another. The opportunities for a disease to spread lies in what is called a contact network. There is a node for each person and an edge if the disease had a chance of spreading from one person to the other.
-The pathogens and networks are very related to each other. The contact networks for the two diseases have different structures, which is dependent on the type of node for transmission.
-For a highly contagious disease that includes airborne transmissions such as coughing or sneezing, the contact network has numerous links that account for the people who sit on a bus or plane.
-For a sexually transmitted disease, the contact network has very few links but a few people who are connected by links.
