Force Production

The Biomechanics

The force production phase of a backtuck is very similar between athletes. The goal is to obtain enough energy to flip all the way over. The most efficient way of doing this is to swing the arms up very fast from the final position of the preliminary phase. Meanwhile, the legs straighten very quickly and the foot moves from a dorsi flexion to a plantar flexion position. This phase is completed as fast as possible.

Biomechanic Principles involved

#2 Maximum Effort

-The use of all possible muscles to complete a task

#3 Maximum Velocity

-The use of joints in order from larges to smallest

#4 Linear Motion(impulse)

-The greater the applied impulse, the greater increase in velocity
