Impact of Cross Staff in New and Old World

The first European to learn of the device was Vasco De Gama , when he visited the Arabs in India in 1498.With the help of this device , Vasco de Gama was able to reach the Eastern Shores.Columbus was another important explorer who used this instrument to sail .

This instrument made history by allowing explorers from the 1400's to the 1700's find new land , and find new routes around the entire world. Mariners as well as sailors also used the Cross Staff in the same way.The Chaldeans in the Mid East used it , but sailors did not use it until the Early 1500's.
