In chapter five, Jonah prays unto God and pleads for forgiveness. The prophet believes it is better for him to die than live because he did not obey God the first time told. Jonah is also angry with God for forgiving the people of Nineveh so quickly. God speaks to Jonah and teaches him that he is a merciful and loving God.

Sypnosis of Chapters Four and Five

Jonah obeyed God and went to Nineveh to fulfill his mission. Jonah preached a message of repentance and to his surprise, the sinful city repented.
