Maya Alexandria Stewart
Maya Alexandria Stewart just gets it. With a voice seemingly informed by some bearded immortal mystic of language living in the crevasses of her pastel pink mind, she breathes out literary jewels onto her typewriter (yes, typewriter) with a grace sure to repulse fellow millennial scribes.
Fueled by her love for bread and Paul Newman, Maya is not a writer bound to her short life experience as her sole inspiration and subject. Instead, Maya prefers to spins tales of violence, anxieties, lost loves, and a bevy of other scenes not yet played in her own life-film.
Being homeschooled her entire life, Maya has been given hours and hours to fertilize her imagination. The last few years have reaped the immaculate fruits of her gorgeous head garden with a book of poetic quips, "Tender Absurdities" and her forthcoming short story collection, "Florida Woman, Florida Man".
It is truly a rarity to come across a writer with a distinct sense of self, no matter the age. It goes without saying that most 17 year old authors have more than likely, thus far in life, failed at finding "a voice". Maya Alexandria Stewart displays a literary maturity far beyond her years. A minor with a major gift.
