Anderson Cooper got appendicitis in November of 2014. He initially thought his symptoms were related to a case of food poisoning. At 47 years old he had severe stomach pain, which began to interefere with his coverage of the protests in Ferguson. He neglected his symptoms for about a month when he finally called his doctor, who told him to go to the hospital. He returned to work with in days after his surgery.
