TREATMENTS

- Psychological treatments(talking therapy)

- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT): Is a structured treatment that recognises that a person's thinking and behaviour affects the way they feel. Involves working with a professional therapist to identify the patterns of thoughts and behaviours that are causing a person's depression. Emphasises changing thoughts and behaviour in a more positive way by teaching people to think rationally and shifting negative thoughts to helpful ones. Attitude changing.

- Interpersonal therapy (IPT): Focuses on problems in personal relationships and the skills required to deal with these problems. Helps people to recognise the patterns in their relationships that make them more vulnerable to depression.

- Behaviour therapy: Focuses exclusively on increasing a person's level of activity and pleasure in their life. Unlike CBT, i doesn't focus on changing a person's beliefs and attitudes.
