Personal Life
James Monroe was a good family man he had a wife Elizabeth. With his wife he had three children, one of whom died as a baby. He brought his family on his travels abroad. One of his two daughters and her husband lived with him in the White House until her mother died. He believed that girls need a good education just as much as boys, so his daughters were well educated.
Quincy Adams was the complete opposite of Monroe. He hardly spent any time with his wife. They took separate summer vacations, didn't send many letters. He filled his free time with hobbies like swimming and gardening.
Andrew Jackson needed his family to handle being president. He had no blood relatives by the time he was fifteen years old. He was able to have a family through his wife, Rachel Donelson, and her large family. He never had any biological children, but adopted his nephew and raised him with an Indian orphan.
