Mr. John Bell Hood

Important dates: 1861- Mr. Hood declared himself as a Texan, and joined the confederate army as a captain.

1862- Mr. Hood was promoted to brigadier general and given command of the unit that became known as Hoods Texas Bridge.

1863- Mr. Hood was wounded in the battle and lost the use of his left arm.


Background info- Born in Kentucky and graduated from the U.S Military Academy at West Point in 1853. Mr. Hood served in the U.S Cavalry on the Texas Frontier, fighting Comanche.


Why was he important to the Civil War? Because he was a captin for the confederate army.
