Africa
Prospects of exploiting African resources and nationalist rivalries between European powers help to explain the frenzied quest for the African empire. This was referred as the "scramble for Africa". Many european businessman took advantage of Africa's abundance in economic opportunities which eventually escalated to European imperialists to carve out parts of Africa and place a factory in its place. Of course this action angered many native Africans and made them migrate to a different land. This essentially caused a lot of tension. The Berlin Conference was made to bring order.
