Peeling Process/Step 1

Question : Why would size and weight matter for the potato in this case?

The Potato Mummification is kind of like a small activity representing the Egyptian mummies and how they were made. Firstly, you will need materials such as a small brown potato, 1 to 2 ounces of salt, a plastic knife/potato peeler and a container.

Take your potato and remove all the skin with the knife until there is no brown remaining and just the insides of the potato. Cut down the potato so both sides are flat.

Once that is finished, slice the potatoes from all angles to make a somewhat looking mummy. When your potato is completed weigh your potato, mine was 0.6 ounces. ( it should be under 2 ounces ). By the time you are finished with weighing you potato, you are finished with this step.

In my opinion, the weight and size would matter because in one of the next steps, salt would be needed to cover the potato so it really depends on the amount of salt you have and the size of the sarcophagus.
