Marine Litter pollution

Cause - The persistence of marine litter is the result of poor practices of solid waste management, lack of infrastructure and a lack of awareness of the public at large about the consequences of their actions.

Effect - Whirling currents pull trash from the world's oceans and float around the world. The Atlantic Ocean Garbage Patch is Europe's largest aquatic landfill. This trash has killed many sea creatures and disturbed the balance of the ocean.
