Lobotomy
The first Lobotomy was performed in 1935 and quickly spread throughout America do to its inexpensiveness and seemingly high success rate.
A lobotomy starts with a patient being shocked into a coma. The surgeon would then hammer icepick shaped items into the upper eye-sockets. The purpose was to disconnect the frontal nerves from the emotion-controlling centers of the brain. The intended results was to calm and control violent or emotionally unstable patients.
