Lobotomy's did seem successful at first in controlling patients; however, after tens of thousands of patients received the procedure, people started noticing the negative effects.

Lobotomies left patients with lethargic and immature personalities. It also left patients unable to control their impulses or left them with a total absence of feeling. Lobotomies also ended up killing 1 out of every 4 patients to receive the treatment.
