Regions
The three main regions in the Indus Valley are a well-watered northern plain, the dry triangular Deccan and the coastal plains on either side of the Deccan. The northern plain lies south of the mountains, and was watered by the rivers Indus, Ganges, and the Brahmaputra. The Deccan was very dry and arid, akin to a desert. The coastal plains was riddled with heavy rain.
