Merchants and Craftsmen
Merchants did long distance trading, and brought in foreign items. For example items like gems, animal skin, and feathers, these items were bought by the elites.
Craftsmen had a reputation in the elite community for working with gold, sliver, tropical bird feathers, and cotton textiles.
