France Falls, Britain Looks to be Next!
Operation Sea Lion
Operation Sea Lion is the name given to the German plan to invade Great Britain. To the right, you will see a map that depicts the German plan. From the British narrative, this attempted invasion is known as the Battle of Britain. The German Luftwaffe severely shelled the British on the coast, hoping to gain access to deploy their military on the ground safely.
The German bombs rained down for several weeks. The Germans bombed the coastline, military stations, and eventually turned to bombing major civilian cities, such as London. Despite the efforts of the Germans, the British held strong through this battle of attrition.
