Short-Term Effects

The drug has a few waves of effects. Almost immediately after use, the amount of neurotransmitter dopamine sent to the brain increases, causing a quick and non-lasting euphoria. After a little while under these effects, blood pressure and heart rate increase along with weakened judgement. Finally, once the rush is subsiding, a large loss of appetite ensues.
