Addiction

Meth is highly addictive, both physically and chemically. The brain's dopamine chemistry and distribution are severely altered, being almost unable to function without it. There is a natural craving for more dopamine because it causes a good feeling, but the brain changes to utilize meth in a constant delivery system. Because of this, withdrawal is very painful and lasts for months or even years after the last dose. Because of its nature and the strength of its effects, addiction is more than likely to strike on the very first try.
