Hypothesis and Guiding Question

My hypothesis for this experiment, was that even if the potato was emerged in salt, it would not change.

Results: My hypothesis was wrong. The salt DID change the potato. After the potato was taken out, it was black, and soft. The salt changed it, most likely, took out the moisture, so the potato turned black.

Guiding question: How does salt reduce moisture, in a potato?

Answer: The salt reduces moisture in a potato because I noticed that each time the potato was taken out, it was smaller, and softer. I think that maybe the salt in a way, "rots," the potato, because each time, the potato was blacker, and smaller. The salt must be sucking out the moisture out of the potato, leaving it all black.
