DIFFERENT VARIATIONS

There are six different variations of Chinese chess; blitz chess, supply chess, formation, banqi, San guo qi, sanrenqi, and San you qi. In blitz chess, it is the same as normal Chinese chess except each player has around 5-10 minutes each . In supply chess, you are allowed to re-deploy captured pieces and 4 people play, two on each team . In formation, players' pieces are all jumbled up and put into random positions except for the generals and advisors. Banqi uses all the same pieces but basically has no rules . San guo qi must be played on a special hexagonal board with three armies as opposed to two and each player has 18 pieces . San you qi otherwise known as "three friends chess", is played on a y shaped board with a full army at each end.
