Carver's brilliance was astounding to most white farmers. His advice on agriculture was sought after by many people, including former president Theodore Roosevelt. He was also made a member of the British Royal Arts Society even though he was American and black. He also advised Ghandi on agriculture and nutrition. His accomplishments opened the door to respect for the talents of all black people.
