When the confederacy seceded from the Union on December 20, 1860. 85 soldiers were stationed at Charleston Harbour. 6 days later they were moved to Fort Sumter afraid that they were going to be attacked. April 11,1861 General.P.G.T. Beauregard demanded for Fort Sumter to surrender but they declined there request. Next day at 4:30 a.m. Confederate attacked Fort Sumter for 34hrs, this was the start of the Civil War. April 13, Anderson had surrendered the Fort. Surprisingly no one died.
