Introduction

Diabetes is a pancreatic disease. It occurs when blood sugar is too high. Blood sugar comes from and is changed from the food you eat. There are two types of diabetes, type one and type two. Type one diabetes usually occurs when you are either born or you when you are at a very young age. It is caused when the immune system attacks the pancreas as if the insulin creating cells were dangerous and destroy them. When a person has type one diabetes, their body can not make any insulin. Type two diabetes is when your pancreas stops making or doesn't use insulin well over time. This can be caused by unhealthy eating and exercise habits. Type two diabetes is most common in the age group of people over 35. Treatments for type two diabetes usually include dieting and exercise. In severe cases, medicines and insulon injections are mandatory. Type one diabetes makes up aproximately five to ten percent of the diabetic cases. Type two diabets makes up aproximately ninety to ninety five percent of the cases. An estimated one point five million diabetes cases are diagnosed each year.
