History of the GI
President Franklin D. Roosevelt was determined to have better return for the vets of WWII. He also wanted to expand the middle class in the process. Congress threw around ideas but keeping it limited to meeting the requirements such as there income salary. The bill was signed and passed by Congress on June 22, 1944.
