How it works

Fiber optics are used by having a long, transparent, and flexible fiber of high quality (glass or plastic, thicker than slightly thicker hair) using total internal reflection. It is basically a transparent core surrounded by transparent cladding which endlessly reflected the light from one end of the fiber to the other end. Each end contains a prism or lens which will project the image so it can be easily seen or read.
