Primary succession is when a disaster has occurred, there is just bare rock and wildlife starts growing on bare rock. Secondary succession is there is still soil left on the ground and wildlife starts coming back.
Pioneer species are the first inhabitants to grow in the area. In primary, they are lichens and mosses. In secondary, they are grasses.
Climax community is when succession has stopped in an area and the forest has reached full potential.
