Straight: no added fullness, slim silhouette

A-line: have extra width at the hem. Silhouette resembles an A

Circle: very full at the hem. When laid flat it forms a circle.

Full: are pleated or gathered

Dirndl: slightly gathered skirts, not very full

Gathered: fullness of fabric is pulled together at waist without structure

Gored: have vertical seams from waistline to hem

Wrap: wraps around the body, overlapping in front or in back
